Meet Melissa Swonger​
​
Melissa Swonger is the Architect of Connection-Centered Leadership™—a scholar-practitioner, change theorist, international bestselling author, keynote speaker, and trauma-informed executive coach. For more than a decade, she has brought psychology, leadership, faith-informed meaning, and lived experience into conversation, revealing the often-invisible patterns that shape how people lead themselves, relate to others, and influence culture.
She is the founder of The Sage Hill Project, the home of Connection-Centered Leadership™—an interdisciplinary leadership practice and ideas platform examining how leadership is formed within people and expressed across relationships, organizations, and culture. She is also the creator of the Integrative Transformation Blueprint™, which moves meaningful change through Awareness, Connection, and Movement.
Through this framework, The Sage Hill Project carries a broader mission to mobilize radical kindness globally—enabling people to lead themselves well, relate to and make room for others, and build cultures where people can flourish. Her leadership, coaching, and consulting experience spans business, healthcare, education, nonprofit, faith, and community settings.
Additionally, Melissa has a gift for helping others find their voice and bring their stories and teachings to life; therefore, becoming a publishing partner with She Rises Studios was a natural extension and provides the platform to walk aspiring authors through the journey to publication through her own The Muse and the Method™ process.
A Ph.D. (c) in Psychology at Adler University, Melissa’s doctoral research examines women leaders in the NFL and the informal cultures that shape belonging, advancement, and organizational change. She holds an M.A. in Leadership, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Coaching, and a B.A. in Journalism.
Across her research, writing, speaking, and practice, Melissa brings the invisible architecture beneath how we lead and what we build into view—and offers a more connected way to lead, influence, and build what comes next.
