Reflections on Connection-Centered Leadership - Issue No. 7: The Yes

Last week, I stood on a stage at Women’s EmpowerHer Content Day. I looked out at a room full of people who are building, dreaming, stretching, and becoming.

I told my stories. They began as quiet conversations with God. Those conversations became a memoir. That memoir became a blueprint. I shared it in my own voice alongside others who are lifting theirs for positive impact.

Then I came home.

I did not send Tuesday’s newsletter. Not because I had nothing to say. I was living the moment. I wanted to breathe and process what shifted before putting words to it.

Some moments deserve to be felt before they are formatted.

In the middle of all of it, something happened that only God could orchestrate.

Whom He Raised became a bestseller in twenty-four hours.

I shared the milestone. I celebrated with you. But I did not tell you what it meant in my spirit.

It was not about rankings.It was not about numbers.It was about obedience.

There were many moments while writing this book when I questioned it. If I am honest, I questioned it for years. I did not want to be vulnerable. I wondered if anyone would understand. I wondered if anyone would care about my journey in a sea of stories.

That is not why I wrote.

I wrote because my voice matters. It matters regardless of audience or reception. Women telling the truth about their lives matters. When we amplify one another, something powerful happens. I simply added my voice to that growing conversation.

I asked God, “Are You sure?” He confirmed the calling.

This week reminded me of something simple. When God gives you an assignment, the outcome is His responsibility. Our responsibility is the yes. The late nights.The vulnerability.The release before we feel ready.

If we wait until we feel ready, we will never speak. The bestseller badge did not feel like validation from the world. It felt like confirmation. It confirmed that when we steward what He gives us, He multiplies it. It confirmed that truth carries weight. It confirmed that purpose outruns fear.

I believe many of us are in a sacred stretch right now. You may not be on a stage.You may not have a launch.You may not see visible evidence... yet. If God planted it in you, He intends to bring it through you.

Real empowerment is not standing in front of a crowd. It is trusting Him in the quiet. It is building when the results have not arrived. It is believing that obedience is never wasted.

If you are in a hidden chapter right now, I see you.If you are nurturing something that feels bigger than you, I see you.If you are wrestling with the courage to release what God placed in your hands, I see you.

He finishes what He starts.

Last week was a milestone. I am still celebrating it. It was not the finish line. It was the beginning.

This week is still about the work. It is still stewardship. It is still faith. I could not see this moment when I first began. I trusted anyway.
